美国信守基于中美三个联合公报的一个中国政策，和平与稳定的台海关系符合美国的根本利益。（We remain firmly committed to our 'one China' policy based on the three Joint Communiques," he said. "Our fundamental interest is in peaceful and stable cross-Straits relations.）
他还强调：“我们长久坚持的对台海的政策没有改变（there is no change to our longstanding policy on cross-Straits issues）。”

"Trump's unconventional move on Taiwan did ring a warning bell for the direction of Sino-US relations. China will not take it lightly," the paper said.
该报称：“特朗普在台湾问题上不按常理行事，还是给其任内的中美关系走向敲响了警钟。中方显然不会掉以轻心。”

Victor Gao, a Chinese international relations expert and former translator to late Chinese paramount leader Deng Xiaoping, said that Trump could say what he liked as President-elect but his comments would have huge global consequences once in office.
曾为邓小平担任翻译的国际关系专家高志凯表示，特朗普以当选总统的身份或许可以随心所欲地发表言论，然而正式上任后，他的评论将会带来巨大的全球后果。
"We hope President-elect Donald Trump, who will very soon go into (the) White House, will handle himself with respect, accountability and responsibility and become a force of peace and stability rather than making whimsical and capricious remarks aimed at surprising the world," he said.
他说：“我们希望即将入主白宫的当选总统特朗普能秉持尊重、责任和义务，为和平与稳定出力，而不是制造反复无常的荒诞言论，让全世界震惊。”

其实，特朗普在Twitter上毫无顾忌、大放厥词也不是一天两天了，在他此番剑指中国之前，当地时间11月29日，《华盛顿邮报》就已经忍不了他乱发推了，直接发文称“是时候封唐纳德·特朗普的推特账号了。” ↓
Twitter发言人也表明立场，明确Twitter的规则适用于任何人，总统也不例外，这说明特朗普再胡乱发推真是有可能被封号的节奏啊！
“The Twitter Rules apply to all accounts,” a spokesperson said. “it would consider banning key government officials, even the president, if its rules against hate speech or other language were violated.”
“推特的规则适用于所有账号”，一位发言人表示。“如果账号违反了仇恨言论或其他言论规则，我们会考虑查封重要政府官员的账号，甚至是总统的账号。”
